Weak Antispeciesism in Defense of the Emotional Lives of Nonhuman Animals First of All

The main aim of this article is to reconstruct and then oppose the idea according to which animal liberation implies, for its principles and parameters, human liberation. Reconstructing the principal instances of moral and political antispeciesism, I will propose, in an embryonic form, an antispeciesist theory that better describes the ultimate aim of animal philosophy and that I propose to call, emblematically, ‘weak antispeciesism’.
